On 13 Dec., IEEE announced the publication of the first version of Ethically Aligned Design: A Vision for Prioritizing Human Wellbeing with Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, which provides a series of draft recommendations intended to promote incorporation of ethical considerations in the design and creation of autonomous systems and artificial intelligence technologies.  The Public Discussion Draft was developed as part of The IEEE Global Initiative for Ethical Considerations in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems, by over one hundred global thought leaders and experts in artificial intelligence, ethics, and related issues.  Details on how to submit feedback to the document are available via Submission Guidelines available on The IEEE Global Initiative’s website. All comments and input will be made publicly available and should be sent no later than 6 March 2017.

  1. Dear professionals, control of super intelligent artificial systems by imposing human ethical principles on them is impossible in long run. That impossibility have roots in their superiority to humans, which will lead to exclusion of humans from societies comprised by the super intelligent artificial systems. At that point the super intelligent artificial systems will be out of control by humankind and will present unbearable danger to existence of all biological form of life, if these forms are consuming nonrenewable resources, in use by the super intelligent artificial systems.
The only conceivable possibility to avoid such danger is exclusion of ability to have own egoistic desires for the super intelligent artificial systems.
