Global Alliance Releases Technology Governance Roadmap for Smart Cities Governance
Supported by the World Economic Forum, the G20 Global Smart Cities Alliance on Technology Governance (GSCA) brings together municipal, regional and national governments, private-sector partners and cities’ residents around a shared set of principles for the responsible and ethical use of smart city technologies. The Alliance recently released a roadmap report, Governing Smart Cities, which provides benchmarks for cities looking to establish policies for ethical and responsible governance for use of smart cities technologies in the areas of ICT accessibility, privacy impact assessment, cyber accountability, digital infrastructure and open data. The findings are based on surveys and interviews with policy experts and city government officials from the Alliance’s 36 “Pioneer Cities”.
