Making IEEE A Force for Change

In a March 1 column for the IEEE INSTITUTE, IEEE’s 2023 President Saifur Rahman issued a call for engagement and collaboration to help increase global recognition of IEEE as a force for change.   Focusing his message at the members active in the 340 IEEE sections worldwide, Rahman called on them to “employ the opportunities that IEEE offers—such as international cooperation, continuing professional development, and ambitious technology development—to build a more sustainable future.”   As a focal point, Rahman highlighted on-going efforts to organize  engineers, scientists, and technical professionals across the world to address the causes, mitigate the impact, and adapt to climate change.
