ITU Report Notes Gains in Global Internet Access, But Billions Still Lack Access

misr2016An annual report released on 22 Nov. by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) documents progress in achieving global Internet access, noting that the world is more connected than ever.   However, an estimated 3.9 billion people worldwide lack Internet access, while most of those with access still do not fully benefit from its potential due to high price, poor quality of service and/or other obstacles.   IEEE is working to promote Universal Access to the Internet.
