IEEE Emphasizes The Important Role of Technologists in Internet Policy

On 25 June 2017, the IEEE Board of Directors adopted a position statement emphasizing the importance of technologists and the technical community working proactively alongside policy makers and other stakeholders to evolve governance of the internet.  IEEE believes that this is essential because of the role of technologists in creating the Internet’s technology and their ability to help policy makers address societal challenges associated with Internet technologies.
